Indian police arrest 28 for suspected gang-rape of 15-year-old girl

According to reports in the local media, experts in India are looking into a case in which a 15-year-old girl was attacked multiple times over the course of nearly nine months.

In connection with the alleged assaults that began in January, Mumbai police have detained 28 individuals.

According to reports from nearby, the young lady’s boyfriend assaulted her and shot the episode.

After that, he and his friends allegedly used the recording to force her to have a relationship with them.

According to experts, the assaults took place in various rural Mumbai neighborhoods like Dombivili, Badlapur, Murbad, and Rabale.

On Wednesday night, the young lady finally informed the police about the situation. According to NDTV, a media source, the young woman named 33 people as aggressors and claimed to know nearly every one of them.

India has enacted stringent regulations regarding sexual misconduct since the infamous transport assault of a woman named Nirbhaya in 2012.

Nevertheless, despite the expanded investigation, the issue remains challenging.

The Public Wrongdoing Records Department of India logged 28,046 assault cases in 2020, or nearly 77 cases per day.

Because assault is still viewed as taboo in Indian culture, campaigners contend that the actual number is much higher because many are not even disclosed.
